Danish parents have a limited amount of time to name their children after birth, using a name from a government-approved list. If parents don't meet the deadline or if they use an unapproved name the state provides a name. Boys get the name "Frederick." I think this describes what happens when someone doesn't make a decision that's entirely in one's own hands. I call this the "Frederick Limit" and this blog will report examples of when people and organizations meet the Frederick Limit.
